Online pharmacy
Check that a prescription a customer uploads to your online pharmacy is a genuine, current ScanSureX prescription — through an API, in seconds, paid per check.
Licence and documentsAbout this programme
Customers of online pharmacies upload a prescription as a PDF or a photo. This programme lets your ordering system send that file, or just the prescription reference, to ScanSureX and get back a verdict: issued by a verified doctor, unaltered, still valid, and not already fully dispensed. Only ScanSureX-issued prescriptions can be verified; anything else is refused rather than guessed at. You pay a small fee for each completed check from a prepaid balance, and nothing for checks the platform could not complete.
Worth knowing first
A PDF is confirmed only when its signature and every signed line still match what the doctor issued. A photo can confirm the reference; it never confirms the whole document.
A prescription downloaded from a ScanSureX portal carries the patient's permission in its QR code. A photo or a bare reference needs a one-time code the patient receives.
Build against signed sample prescriptions with a test key. Production keys are issued only after your business is approved.
Signing up
You run an online pharmacy or a pharmacy platform, in the online pharmacy portal on port 3014.
- 1Register the business
Business name, the kind of organisation, GST number, PAN, drug licence number and the representative who signs for the company, with an email and password.
- 2Upload your documents
GST certificate, PAN and drug licence, and anything else that establishes the company. They are read by a ScanSureX administrator and reachable afterwards only through short-lived links.
- 3Build in the sandbox meanwhile
A sandbox key works from day one against signed sample prescriptions, so your integration is ready when approval arrives.
- 4Get approved
An administrator moves the application to under review, then approves or rejects it with a note. Approval also switches on production keys.
- 5Add credits
Top up a prepaid balance. Every completed verification is charged from it at the price on your account; a low balance is flagged before it stops you.
Day to day
A customer has uploaded a prescription to your site and your system is about to accept the order.
- 1Send the file or the reference
Upload the PDF or photo, or send the prescription reference, with your production key.
- 2Permission is checked
A portal-downloaded PDF carries the patient's permission in its QR code. For a photo or a reference, the patient receives a one-time code and gives it to you.
- 3Read the verdict
Document verified, reference verified, rejected, review required, or unavailable, each with a reason. Details of the prescription are released only when permission was established.
- 4Dispense or decline
Your pharmacist decides on the order with a trustworthy prescription in front of them. ScanSureX does not place or fulfil the order.
- 5Watch usage and balance
Every check, its outcome and its charge are listed in your portal and exportable. Statements and invoices for top-ups are there too.
Good to know
- Only ScanSureX-issued prescriptions can be verified. A file without a ScanSureX QR is refused, and an image is never confirmed beyond its reference.
- Prescription details are released only when the patient's permission is established: the QR in a portal-downloaded PDF, or a one-time code the patient receives.
- Production keys work only after approval, and only while the administrator's production switch is on.
- A verification is refused when your balance cannot cover it; top up before you run out.
- Every verification is recorded with its outcome and its charge, and the audit trail is visible to the patient.
How money moves
From ₹1 to ₹2 per completed verification depending on your agreement, taken from a prepaid balance you top up online. There is no subscription. Checks the platform could not complete are not charged, and sandbox checks are never charged.
